Intergenerational Dialogue: Ensuring Healthy Lives - Bridging Generations for Action (CPD58 Side Event).

This side event builds on the ICPD30 Global Dialogues, aiming to bring together experts, policymakers, and advocates to discuss health, demographic shifts, and well-being across all ages.

The Cotonou Youth Action Agenda, emerging from the Global Youth Dialogue on ICPD30 in Benin, April 2024, reaffirms young people's commitment to the International Conference on Population and Development (ICPD). It emphasizes the need for accessible, safe sexual and reproductive health and rights services. Promoting healthy lives and well-being for all ages requires a cross-generational, life course approach that recognizes the health needs of different generations and ensures that investment in the health of young people- including in preventive care and health lifestyles, contributes to healthy aging in the long term. This side event builds on the ICPD30 Global Dialogues, aiming to bring together experts, policymakers, and advocates to discuss health, demographic shifts, and well-being across all ages. It will focus on integrating solutions that promote intergenerational solidarity, resilience, and health across the life course, drawing on the Cotonou Youth Action Agenda's health recommendations. The event will emphasize mutual learning, fostering social inclusion, and building resilient communities.

The 58th session of the Commission on Population and Development (CPD58) will meet from 7 April to 11 April 2025 under the theme: Ensuring healthy lives and promoting well-being for all at all ages.
